The paint stroke in the top left makes it’s first appearance, bluntly symbolising creativity. I very much hope that I have become somewhat more subtle.
At the time I had yet to decide on the shade of “black” or red used in the logo, so I used a grey that was far too light and a rather obnoxious red. The typeface used is Trajan, because clearly I’m less a designer and more like a movie.
This design is based around an eight column grid, to allow for flexibility while still being somewhat cohesive. I believe this is the first time I used a formal grid for a design. One thing it allowed me to do was to use two image widths that still “worked”. Here’s the same design with a wider image:
And just for the sake of experimentation, I decided to see what the colour scheme would look like as a light on dark design:
